Principals
Brian started his career in 1994 in the U.S. Corporate department of Wachovia Bank, ultimately responsible for managing relationships with large corporate clients located in Toronto, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.
In 1998 Brian moved to Wachovia’s nascent Capital Markets Group charged with developing, marketing and closing highly structured transactions. Brian helped close a significant book of European leveraged leases making Wachovia a market-leading participant.
In 1999 Brian worked with Wachovia’s Timberland Investment Management Organization to develop a tax-advantaged timberland note structure. The program proved a great success and Brian continued to market it to forest products companies for the next decade, establishing Wachovia as an industry leader closing over $2.3B of transactions.
During the 2000’s Brian expanded the bank’s timberland platform to include senior and mezzanine secured debt, M&A advisory and direct equity investments. In 2011 Brian left Wells Fargo (successor to Wachovia) as a founding member of TerraVista.
Brian holds a Masters of Management from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
